Gilbert Scott Primary School

Inspiring all, to achieve in learning for life

New Information.  Leadership Team 2016/17

Leadership Team for Academic Year 2016 / 2017

The long term head teacher of Gilbert Scott Primary School retires at the end of August 2016.

The Governing Board have advertised on a number of occasions but have not been able to secure a suitable candidate for this position.

The decision to appoint a new head teacher has also been ‘muddied’ by the Government agenda for all schools to be academies by 2020, particularly if they are in a vulnerable authority or where more than 50% of pupils attend an academy. This is the case in Croydon. The Governing Board now needs to give due consideration to academisation.

For the next academic year the strategic management of the school at its highest level will be overseen by Tricia Farrelly, the present head teacher at Courtwood Primary School. She will be Executive Head Teacher over both Courtwood and Gilbert Scott.

Bernadette Wakefield will be the Head of School for Gilbert Scott, having the day to day strategic lead and management of the school. Ms Mary Denny, will be joining Gilbert Scott as the deputy head teacher on a temporary basis for the next academic year.
